Cadence in the Valley Tournament |
|
Keyser High School Band will host the Second Annual Cadence in the Valley Tournament of Bands competition on Saturday, September 22nd at Keyser High School Alumni Stadium. The completion begins at 5:30 and tickets are $6. The high school bands scheduled to perform are: Fort Hill, Musselman, Allegany, Mountain Ridge, Greenbrier East, Northern Garrett, Martinsburg, Southern Garrett, Hedgesville, Petersburg, and Richie County. Keyser High School, the reigning Chapter XIII State Champions for Group II, will perform in exhibition. |

Cumberland Lions Club will be hosting a barbecue chicken sale at the White Oaks Shopping Center on Saturday, September 22nd 23rd from 11am until sold out. Large half a chicken, potato salad and a roll will be $7.00 |

Lonaconing Fundraiser |

The Lonaconing Christmas Lighting Committee will be holding a Cash Bash in the Iron Furnace Park, on September 22, 2012 from 12 noon til 6pm. The bands include Velveeta, Travis Minnick and Surrender Dorothy. Cost is $20.00, Drawings for Cash every 15 minutes.
It is a BYOB, no glass containers . Food vendors will be available. All proceeds will help fund the Christmas lightings, and Christmas functions in the town. No one under the age of 21 will be permitted, must have I.D. at the gate.

Breathe Deep Baltimore for LUNGevity Foundation |

Breathe Deep Baltimore is an untimed 5K walk/fun run to raise money for critical lung cancer research. Be a part of the first event of it's kind to be inside Oriole Park at Camden Yards! Invite all your friends to walk around the warning track on the field that is home to the Baltimore Orioles! Awards will be given to the top two individual fundraisers and top two fundraising teams. The course is friendly to strollers and wheelchairs. There will be activities for the kids, including face painting and a bounce house. At the Keyser Primary Middle School there will be a car show for the club Skills USA at the Mineral County Technical Center. The benefits of the car show go towards two scholarships in memory of students who passed away. The scholarships will go to students who excel in their technical area and are in Skills USA. The car show will start at 10:00am and will end at 2:00pm. Registration will cost 10 dollars to enter a car. There will be food, and games. Please get this out there on the radio |

The Gordon-Roberts House Event |

September 22, 1-4PM The Gordon-Roberts House hosts the Allegany County Historical Society General Meeting to discuss the Union Grove One-Room School Fall Festival. From 1-3PM, canned and baked goods will be for sale, with proceeds benefitting the schoolhouse and education programs. From 3-4PM, old fashion recitations and stories will be told.
